AE481/482 Reflection

This Penn State Senior Thesis was an opportunity to demonstrate the education and experience gathered over the last 5 years studying Architectural Engineering. Over the course of the 2016-2017 academic year, the 500 Ray C. Hunt Drive Renovation project was analyzed in order to find areas in which the construction process, various systems, and key components could be optimized in a way that would contribute to the team, the owner, and the construction industry. The Fall semester focused on the existing circumstances of the structure and project, while the Spring semester allowed for redesign and evaluation opportunities in the project.

CPEP Assessment

The Capstone Project Electronic Portfolio (CPEP) site was an effective tool to use throughout the entire Senior Thesis project. It provided many user-friendly resources to display students' work and accomplishments throughout the school year. It is an effective resource that will enable my work to be displayed for years to come.

Note: While great efforts have been taken to provide accurate and complete information on the pages of CPEP, please be aware that the information contained herewith is considered a work‐in progress for this thesis project. Modifications and changes related to the original building designs and construction methodologies for this senior thesis project are solely the interpretation of Kaidy Wollman. Changes and discrepancies in no way imply that the original design contained errors or was flawed. Differing assumptions, code references, requirements, and methodologies have been incorporated into this thesis project; therefore, investigation results may vary from the original design.
